# How to Use GetFIT App's Food Logger Effectively

GetFIT App’s Food Logger helps you track your daily food intake by making it simple to record what you eat and understand your calories and macros. There are multiple ways to log your meals depending on your preference.

You can manually type in what you ate using written text, or use our food search feature to find items from available food databases. These databases include many popular foods, ingredients, and meals from around the world, especially commonly used foods from English-speaking markets.

One of the easiest ways to log meals is our AI-based food logger. Simply describe what you ate, and the more details you provide about ingredients and portion sizes, the more accurate the estimated results will be.

For example, writing:

> “2 French toast with frozen berries”

does not provide enough information for an accurate calculation. A better description would be:

> “2 French toast made with approximately 50g white bread, 1 whole egg, 3 egg whites, and sweetener, topped with 1 cup of frozen blueberries.”

Adding details about quantities, ingredients, and preparation methods helps GetFIT App create a much closer estimate of the actual calories and macros in your meal. Try to always add cooking oils and extra fats you consume to your meals to the logger.

<Warning>
  Keep in mind that no food logging system can be 100% accurate. Food labels, portion estimates, cooking methods, and ingredient differences can all affect the final calculation. The goal is not perfection, but creating consistent and realistic tracking habits.
